WE ARE STANDING UP for our farming community and food choices. WE ARE FUNDING EDUCATION for the next generation of farmers to achieve viable livelihoods in agriculture by raising funds and awareness in the community for educational programs while promoting commerce and access to local food sources.

Established with the launch of the inaugural Friends of the Farmer Festival in July 2011, we are proud to launch the FarmOn! Foundation, which supports and funds education for the next generation of farmers and the future of farming in America. In partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia & Greene Counties, 4H, QuestarIII, CLC camps and H.A.R.V.E.S.T. Club of Taconic Hills School for implementation in the region, students will have the opportunity to continue studies in Agricultural Sciences with the entrepreneurial spirit to foster careers in agriculture related businesses.

The time seemed right to support the farm to table locavore mission by creating programs to allow students to benefit from the great farmland resource they have in this country and particularly in the agriculturally rich region of the Hudson River Valley in New York State and offer curriculum and programs for learning, apprenticeship, awareness and commerce as they cultivate the land, their minds and the farms that keeps us so well fed.

FarmOn! Foundation Mission
Community, Commerce, Succession, Sustainability.

1. Promoting the Right to Choose Food that is Honest & Responsible
Meet your farmer and know how your food is raised and treated for consumption. This choice makes it possible for new farmers to consider succession in family farms and heed the calling to the farm as an entrepreneur.

2. Producing Educational Programs
Integrating entrepreneurial spirit and agricultural studies to create practical educational programs for interactive learning, apprenticeships, work/study credits and advanced curriculums with status and prestige to create livelihoods in farming that make you proud to heed the calling to the land as a career.

3. Providing Educational Opportunities
Educating students about the importance of nutrition and principals for humane and sustainable practices at the farm is vital. Educating consumers to learn about criteria for selecting sources of their food and understanding the practices that maintain foods’ nutritional qualities of unprocessed local foods in to build farm to table revenue streams.
