2012 Picnic Table Auction Archive
All tables below were SOLD in 2012
Inspired by the Painted Cows, Dogs in Hudson and Cats in Catskill - for the FarmOn! Foundation we decided to create conversation and chatter and raise funds and awareness with a more practical painted piece - the classic picnic table.
The Table: A place where there is no rich or poor - no black or white - just hunger. A place where we are all equal. We come to the table together to celebrate the farmer that keeps us so well fed! Farm On!
12 celebrities painted picnic tables that were built in 2011 by Kipp Edick, Architect with Local Lumber generously donated by Ed Herrington. They premiered at the 2011 inaugural Friends of the Farmer Festival. These 12 tables will be auctioned this month at our two events - for one cause.

Anne Grauso is an emerging artist who lives, works and exhibits in New York City while completing her MFA at Parsons School of Design. Using nature as a muse, Grauso connects people to the natural world that is ever present all around us, whether it be in a rural or urban environment. She explores themes of natural versus constructed beauty and this is evident in her prints, sculpture and performance. The picnic table contributed to FARM ON! is a play on a bird's nest and eggs within a man made structure. The artist's choice of color for the picnic table resembles the color of many northeastern birds' eggs, yet it's vibrancy gives the table an inviting, fun, summery finish.

Andrew Kramer graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in architecture. His last year of architectural studies was in Rome, Italy, where he was immersed in the abundance of great art and architecture of the Italian masters.
Following several years practicing architecture in New York, Boston and Denver, Andrew desired more creativity in his work and changed careers, specializing in large-format architectural photography. He was successful, working for a variety of clients while photographing projects in over forty states and Canada.
Andrew's background in architecture and photography helped refine his sense of design - composition, light, shadow, color, tonal values - and most importantly, the intangible elements that enhance the experience of the viewer. Upon retiring in 2003, Andrew began painting and found a new passion. With his creative background, painting was a natural transition.
